Since I got a new fancy Android phone, I'm downloading apps like a motherfucker! One of those apps is RunKeeper. And I thought it was funny to do a test. What I did was let my Cateye Velo 8 cycling computer keep track of the same route as RunKeeper.
And surprise surprise! There were some different outcomes!
Cateye Data:
- Time: 26 m 55 s
- Distance: 11,26 km
- Average Speed: 26,1 km/h
- Max Speed: 47,5 km/h
- Calories burned: 217,9
RunKeeper Data:
- Time: 26 m 41 s
- Distance: 11,11 km
- Average Speed: 24,98 km/h
- Max Speed: 52,9 km/h
- Calories burned: 308
There's a 5 km/h gap between RunKeeper and the cycling computer in the top speed, a 1,1 km/h gap in the average speed, and 90 calorie gap between the burned calories. But I find that burned calories thingie bullshit anyhow...
What I do like about Runkeeper is the fact that is keeps track of the climbing meters you do on your ride!
So I was kinda skeptical at first, but it's still a fun app that I can recommend!
